Griffin came up with the idea for the 1995 card saying that she wanted to be an angel and she wanted to fly. The angel part was easy, but the flying lessons took a little more thought. Our friend Mark Law loaned us his studio and a pair of angel wings for the shoot. A quartz light on the background created the bright light she is jumping toward and as a continuous light source added a blur to give a sense of motion during the 30th of a second exposure. The clear face and robe came from the short burst of flash through Mark's large soft box also in the direction Griffin was jumping with a reflector on the opposite side for fill light. Griffin jumped up and away from the column about 20 times and we had our pick of shots of an angel in flight.
Our web survey has routinely shown this card to be the favorite of the series.
